A day after his birth, and first child, George Alexander Louis, makes his debut outside of St. Mary’s Hospital in London on July 23, with his proud mother gently holding her newborn and beaming brightly at her husband.
The Duchess and her baby boy share a private moment among the sea of photographers and well-wishers gathered outside the hospital. “It’s very emotional,” Kate said. “It’s a moment that any parent having just given birth will know what this feeling feels like.”
William puts his parenting skills immediately on display, taking the Prince of Cambridge from Kate’s arms before addressing the media. “We are still working on a name, so we will have that as soon as we can,” he said.
It’s not all seriousness for the couple, who crack smiles while showing off their new addition. “He’s a big boy,” said William of his day-old son, who weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz., at birth. “He’s quite heavy.”
“He has got her looks, thankfully,” William quipped as the world got a good look at the newest royal. “I will remind him of his tardiness when he’s a bit older because I know how long you have all sat out here.”
