Though Paul E's first few weeks of life have been traumatic, his story has a happy ending. After intense surgery to repair wounds caused by cruel teens in Kingsland, GA, the little kitten is not only recovering well, but he's found a new home. A statement on the animal hospital's website says: "Paul E has been adopted. We would like to thank everyone who has shown interest in Paul E, the little abused kitten that was brought to our clinic."
Paul E the kitten was tossed and kicked around like a ball by cruel teenagers in Kingsland, Georgia, but thankfully he fell into the hands of a caring veterinarian who saved his life by amputating one of his limbs. Dr. Michael Payne of the Laurel Oaks Animal Hospital was the surgeon who removed Paul E's front leg after his "shoulder was ripped away from the body and (he) had lots of nerve damage in the leg," he told CNN.
But Paul E is a survivor. "With in the next day he was learning how to walk on three limbs," Payne said. "He was up and moving, eating, purring."
Payne says he sees cases of animal abuse all too often. According to the website Pet-Abuse.com, there have been more than 1,500 cases of animal cruelty this year alone.
