I am not a fan of making dogs live outside. (And I am a person who shares 700 square feet with two English mastiffs, so you know I'm serious about that.) But my dogs sure like to be outside. So let's say I wanted a place for the pooches to retreat from the cold of winter, or to hang out on a camping trip. The Yukon Inflatable Air-Insulated Doghouse could be the answer.
I know what you're thinking: Inflatable? Sounds crazy for a doghouse. But this one's tough. So tough, in fact, the Yukon is the official doghouse of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. It's crafted of materials more commonly used for products like the inflatable kayaks at your local outdoor adventure store or the giant bouncing castle at the neighborhood kid's birthday party.
A standard foot pump (or, for people like me, an electric air pump) inflates the soft structure, and manufacturer FIRSTRAX claims it's "Designed to be inflated once per season – that's it!" Firstrax also says that the Yukon provides ten times the insulation of traditional igloo-style doghouses. Easy and cozy!
The Yukon is fairly reasonably priced, with a suggested retail of $149-$199. Find it online at Goods For You.
