Give a round of a-paws for Madison Lashley: The Seattle cat beat out some of the furriest felines around to win the Favorite Furball Contest, put on this week by the Twitter-famous Romeo the Cat. Entrants submitted their photos to Romeo for approval, and made donations to his charity of the month, Kitten Rescue of Los Angeles.
Madison, 8, is a self-described "supermodel." The tabby, 8, was adopted by Cindy Lashley, a print buyer for REI. The two met at a shelter, in a moment Lashley calls "love at first sight." Though Madison is prone to hairballs, Lashley uses Petromalt – and plenty of loving grooming sessions – to keep her cat healthy. "As you can imagine, nothing looks worse than a supermodel choking on yesterday's hair," she jokes. When not busy maintaining her stellar appearance, Madison can be seen doing "crazy cat yoga," or guilt-tripping humans. "She is the sassiest tabby I have ever met," says Lashley. "She wants to be fed at 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day, and she is so full of attitude if you don't get home on time! She gives you the 'Puss in Boots' look with the big sad eyes, then she dances all the way to the kitchen."
