For Alfie the dog, it really is a dog-eat-dog world. The spaniel swallowed a dog-shaped dollhouse toy belonging to the Dutton family's 7-year-old daughter, Madeline. In the X-ray (right) you can actually see the toy dog's smiling face inside Alfie's stomach.

But what happened next was not so funny: "Alfie was refusing to eat or drink and looked sad, which is so unlike him," mom Joanne Dutton of Cheshire, England, told The Sun. "The vet felt his tum and found something there." Thankfully, the doctor successfully removed the item during a two-hour surgery. Now, says Dutton, Alfie is as good as new and "running round like a lunatic."
