For every pet living with a happy family, there is an animal in a shelter waiting to find a forever home. So today, we want you to meet rottweiler-shepherd mix Judy, a polite young pooch looking to snuggle up with a fun family.
One-year-old Judy came to Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco by way of a shelter in nearby Merced. The petite pup – she weighs just 30 lbs. – has spent the past month in doggie "boot camp" with trainer Felix Sunga, and "her manners are wonderful," reports Rocket Dog Foster and Adoption Coordinator Leda Marritz. "She's wonderful with kids, but other dogs, not so much," she adds. "She should go to a good home where she'll be your one and only canine girl."
Founded in 2001, Rocket Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based organization serving the San Francisco Bay Area, dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned dogs from over-crowded animal shelters. The organization places non-aggressive dogs into temporary foster homes where they are socialized, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for any medical or behavioral conditions, and then works to find them a forever family. So far, Rocket Dog has saved the lives of 1,900 loving pups.
In addition to adoption drives and special events, the organization is always working to raise funds to help support its dogs and their foster families. Visit Rocket Dog's Web site for information on how you can help!
