Adopt Me! Spotty Dottie Wants to Lick Your Face
A volunteer found Spotty Dottie in an abandoned home when she was just six weeks old. Malnourished and sick wtih distemper, it took lots of medical care – and TLC – to nurse her back to health. She spent some time with a foster family, and now resides at SARA Sanctuary. "Spotty Dottie is a hilarious dog," says SARA founder and director Tracy Frank. "And you'll no doubt notice her long tongue. Our veterinarian actually said that her tongue is too long for her mouth." But aside from this cute feature, Spotty Dottie also has a winning personality. "She's a very loving dog," shares Cykala. "She gets along well with other dogs, cats and even kids. She's always happy."
Founded in 1996, SARA, located on 380 acres outside of San Antonio, Texas, welcomes homeless companion animals and offers them food, love and a permanent place to live. While the no-kill shelter does seek adoptive homes for its animals, if they can't find a family for a pet, staffers will take care of it on-site for the rest of its natural life.
Funded almost entirely by private donations, the sanctuary is always in need of financial aid, so please visit their Web site for more information and to see how you can help.
