Handlers at Hanover's Adventure Zoo in Germany have much to celebrate – a baby gorilla was born at the facility last week! The 5-day-old gorilla, who's not yet named, arrived in the early morning hours on Oct. 23 to mom Josy and dad Buzandi. Shortly after his birth, his dad grunted at him – a sign of recognition – and his mom built a secluded nest in which the two of them can retreat to rest.
The palm-sized baby has a head "hardly bigger than a tennis ball," according to zookeepers, and has spent his days exploring his home and snuggling into his proud mama's hair. According to the zoo, the "other ladies as well have already admired the new baby" from afar, before taking care of their own little ones. We think this little guy is pretty darn cute, too!
