File this one under "paranoid pet owner." A woman in England placed an urgent call to 999 (the Greater Manchester Police) last week to say her cat was "doing her head in" – because it was playing with string. The pet owner, who reportedly slurred her speech, told dispatchers it was an emergency because the situation had "been going on for two hours."
Officials released audio of the call to remind people not to dial 999 to report non-emergencies, especially during the busy – and often dangerous – holiday season.
No word on whether the offending cat was taken into custody, but we're guessing that after a cuddle and some catnip, all was well!
