Dogs seem able to doze just about anywhere, but our precious pups deserve a soft spot on which to rest their heads at night. So when we discovered Chién Vivant Couture dog beds recently (left), we were literally drooling over the glamour – and our pups were, too! But the luxurious line, which features rich fabrics from around the world, comes with a very hefty price tag – anywhere from $1,700 to about $2,000 per bed. That's a lot of bones!
After some searching, we found a few options that contain some characteristics of the Chién Vivant beds – headboards, snuggly pillows, sizable sleeping space – and ring up at a fraction of the price. The Soho dog bed by Whitney Works (right, $225) boasts a wood frame with two bones on the headboard, plus a soft spot for sleeping. A fun four-poster option is this cushy bed with a platinum frame ($65.03), but the least expensive alternative is the Country Dreams dog bed ($49.95), a wood-framed piece that features a fleece pillow for extra-soft sleeping. Your pup will be dreaming of cats in no time!
