Deep breaths, elephant mamas-to-be: You're almost at the end of your 22-month pregnancies. Just a few more of these leg lifts, and come sometime between April and November, you'll soon be caring for a little – er, big – baby elephant!

Expectant moms Khaing Hnin Hnin, Manari, Sayang, Califa and Farina joined elderly elephant cow Indra for their daily workout at a German zoo on Thursday. In addition to the leg lifts, and other prenatal elephant-ercises, the mammals walk 3 to 4 miles a day with their caregivers as they await their calves.
