Adopt Me! Raja's an All-Star Office Assistant
Surrendered by her previous family, Raja was at first "full of growls and hisses," says spokesman Chaunce Stanton. But after working with Feline Rescue's socializers, the 11- to 14-year-old cat (she's reluctant to share her real age) is happy and well adjusted. "She purrs at the sight of her favorite people and actively seeks out laps," Stanton says.
The content kitty spends her days in the center's office, helping sort through faxes and other documents. "She's the world's most awesome office companion kitty," says office manager Anita Tavakley. "I wonder why in the world she's still here." Sadly, Raja has seen many cats come and go while she's waited for her chance at finding a forever home. She'd be best suited for life with a quiet, gentle adult human or two, preferably in a home without other animals.
Located in St. Paul, Minn., Feline Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill adoption center and foster network. The organization's primary goal is to provide shelter and care for stray, abused and abandoned cats until they are adopted into suitable homes. Since its inception in 1997, the shelter has placed more than 3,000 cats with forever families.
