Lights, kibble ... distraction! Looking to turn heads with your pooch as you head outdoors this spring? Try a doggie tee from Izzy Bitzy.
The snarky, celeb-inspired line of tees for pups puts cheeky names like Brad Pitbull, Sarah Jessica-Barker, Alice Pooper and Hilary Ruff on their backs.
And if the style seems familiar, it is: The line was created by fashion designer JoDee Randall of Traverse City, Mich., after she saw the success of her Izzy Bitzy line for tots and tweens take off three years earlier.
Even stars are seeing the fun in subbing Tom Coos for Tom Cruise on a baby tee, or Angelina Rolie for Angelina Jolie on a doggie shirt. Both Cruise and the Jolie-Pitts have been spotted with Izzy Bitzy products.
"When I meet celebs out or at gifting events, they are like, 'How come you don't have one for me?' " she says. "Both Joey Lawrence and Tori Spelling inquired about having an Izzy Bitzy tee named after them."
Maybe Randall's daughter SaDee can help with that – the 12-year-old already came up with the Black-Eyed Fleas tag for a tee ($28). But first, Mom has plans to roll out a few new products. Jersey Shore fans should keep checking the Izzy Bitzy website for a Snooki-inspired tee coming soon, and later this year she'll expand to adult sizes as well as a dog accessories line that will include a pooch carry bag.
"I like doing this because it makes people laugh," says Randall, "and laughter is the best medicine."
