When it comes to quality pet gear, there aren't many small companies that offer it all – treats, beds, collars, toys and more. But Up Country, a 26-year-old pet product manufacturer, has all of your furry bases covered.
Though the company started with just six collar designs, today they produce harnesses, leads, futons, toys, treats and even a bridal line (significant other not included). Most work is done by hand in Up Country's Rhode Island studio, where workers diligently pore over your pet's precious things.
We're personally hooked on Up Country's charming collars, which feature fresh, colorful patterns for spring (squirrels and nuts, dogs in cars, growing sunflowers) and can be mixed and matched with similarly cute leads. There's even a "celebrations" line, with custom collars for Halloween, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving and other major holidays. (Prices start at $20.) Made of nylon webbing, they're stain- and fray-resistant, and machine washable, too.
Like many of our favorite pet gear companies, Up Country gives back, as well: They donate collars and leashes to newly-adopted pets, and even sponsor a veterinary clinic display at the Providence Children's Museum to encourage proper pet care. Hey – every little bit helps!
