Oliver Platt describes his Labradoodle Noodle as a "fantastic dog," but he's quick to admit that visitors to his home may not exactly agree.

"We like it when she gets her paws up on us," The Big C star told PEOPLEPets.com on Saturday at the premiere of the Showtime series at designer Donna Karan's East Hampton, N.Y., home. "But our guests don't naturally appreciate that."

The actor, whose known for his quirky roles and plays Laura Linney's loveable but estranged husband in the new drama, said that guests will just have to put up with Noodles' public displays of affection -- because she's not changing.

"This is what Noodle does," he explains. "They just have to tolerate it, because she's such a spectacular and delicate and friendly and flawless dog."

The Big C premieres Aug. 16 on Showtime.
