Terrible idea of the day: A British woman threw a cat into a garbage can – and was caught on tape doing it by a CCTV camera. The woman stopped to pet the tabby, but then picked her up by the scruff of her neck, tossed her into a green bin and shut the lid. The cat was rescued by her owners 15 hours later. –Mail Online

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined SeaWorld $75,000 for three safety violations surrounding the events that resulted in the death of trainer Dawn Brancheau last year. Brancheau died after a 12,000-lb. killer whale pulled her into the water. SeaWorld disputed the agency's findings. –CNN.com
