We all know southern belles are charming and gracious. And southern dogs? Well, they are too! So it makes sense that the proper pups of Asheville, N.C., are flocking to the new Woof Gang Bakery, where they can nosh daintily on sweet treats and mingle with other pretty pooches.
Opened in July, the latest franchise in the Woof Gang family features a crystal chandelier and pink décor. Staffers stock the shelves with all sorts of fun pet products, plus all-natural dog foods; wheat-, soy- and corn-free treats baked in-house; and custom-made snacks for special occasions (doggie weddings, anyone?).
The spacious spot is always full of dogs – whether it's the owners' pups, Sadie, Lady and Bailey; their daughter's Lab puppy; or the manager's two pooches – and neighborhood pets are welcome. Manager Braden Cook says the staff is planning some "yappy hours" for customers and their dogs and a few end-of-summer ice cream socials too. (Yum!)
