For every pet living with a happy family, there is an animal in a shelter waiting to find a loving home. Today, in honor of Adopt-a-Dog Month, we'd like you to meet Casey, a cute Lab mix laying low at Home for Good dog rescue in Summit, N.J.
Though Casey's past is unclear, today, the 7-month-old is a "sweet, sweet gal who loves everything," says Home for Good's Ailie Sommers. "When she's around kids, all she wants to do is love and lick them." The tan and white pooch – who could stand to gain a few pounds but is otherwise healthy and fully grown – gets along well with dogs, cats and, obviously, kids. She enjoys playing and exploring the outdoors, and would make a great addition to any family. "She's absolutely adorable," Sommers says. To inquire about Casey, fill out an online application here.
Home for Good is a volunteer-based organization that rescues, nurtures and adopts dogs of all breeds into loving homes. Run solely by foster families, Home for Good plucks dogs from local no-kill and high-kill shelters, giving them a second chance at life. The dogs are regularly made available for adoption at events around the New Jersey area.
The organization relies heavily on donations to continue rescue operations, so visit its website to learn how you can help.
