What you are looking at is a picture of an elephant inside its mother's womb.
Here's George, when he was three months into his conception and 19 months away from being born. Last year, the Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, England, took this scan of elephant Karishma's embryo, whose little ears and trunk you can just start to make out.
The entire pregnancy was documented with ultrasound cameras, and the zoo will show George's birth on television in the U.K.
Now six months old – and much bigger than he was a year ago – George is getting along with zookeepers, his mother Karishma and his sister, Donna.
