Should Beverly Hills 'Housewife' Taylor Armstrong Give Up her Pup?

We've preached it before on PEOPLEPets.com: Never give a pet as a gift! But that's exactly what Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband Russell Armstrong did in a recent episode, presenting his 4-year-old daughter, Kennedy, with an adorable white pup named Snowball.
His wife, Taylor Armstrong, was against the idea from the get-go, and looked visibly upset when the dog arrived in a ribbon-topped box at Kennedy's opulent birthday party. The reality star knew she'd be the one taking care of the pooch, considering her husband's busy work schedule.
So far that's been the case: Taylor has toted Snowball around Beverly Hills (a bit begrudgingly) and coordinated her training, while Russell hasn't had much involvement with the pup (at least on camera). And though Kennedy is obviously smitten with Snowball, at 4, she's a little too young to care for her alone.
But in last Thursday's episode, the family's puppy plight took a turn: Kennedy appeared to have an allergic reaction to the dog. Taylor took her red-eyed, rash-covered daughter to a pediatrician, who confirmed her fears. And though it was a small victory for the scorned housewife, it meant she was faced with another problem: the possibility of having to take her daughter's beloved pet away.
"This was a heartbreaking episode for me to watch," Taylor wrote on her blog shortly after the episode aired. "I felt horrible for my child['s] suffering ... and I felt awful for little Snowball as well." The doctor recommended that the Armstrongs keep Snowball off of the family's beds and out of Kennedy's bedroom, and limit contact between the girl and her dog.
"I couldn't imagine how I was going to break the news to my little girl that her puppy might need a new home," Armstrong wrote. "I was frustrated and sad."
After a conversation with Russell led to a dead end, producers left the matter hanging. And in a Tweet from Nov. 13, Taylor wrote, "Snowball is happy and healthy but you will have to stay tuned to learn more..." Which leaves us wondering: what will be Snowball's fate?
What do you think? Should Taylor give Snowball up for adoption?
