Bo's Secret Santas? Malia and Sasha!
While his mom Michelle was chatting with the audience at the Children's National Medical Center, one of the kids asked what the First Lady had gotten her 2-year-old Portuguese water dog for Christmas.
"Malia and Sasha are actually responsible for shopping for Bo," Mrs. Obama said. "And I don't know what they're going to get him, but they're probably going to get him some toys, because he loses his toys."
And with that, she revealed a little-known fact about the First Dog, who we've so far known to be the consummate pooch – well-behaved, sociable and polite. Turns out he's also a big slob!
"[The toys] are all over the White House, in the South Lawn. I mean, the dog is a mess," Obama continued. "He just leaves his toys everywhere. And then he loses them and he's got nothing to play with. So we probably need to get him some more toys."
She then asked if the children had any gift ideas of their own for Bo.
"A ball," one replied.
"A chewy," another said.
Mrs. Obama took a mental note, and said, "Let's keep it down so he doesn't hear. We want it to be a surprise, all right?"
