If it's going to be a Justin Bieber world, he wants it to be one where animals are rescued, not bought.
It turns out that the unlikely advocate
for animal adoption isn't just concerned with his hair and his superstardom; the 16-year-old singer also using his incredible popularity to star in another PETA campaign
"Animals can make U smile," the new poster reads, in Bieber's trademark purple script. "Adopt from your local shelter."
Photographed by Cliff Watts, the ad features a grinning Bieber – who rescued his own dog, a Papillion named Sam, from a shelter last year and also starred in a campaign for peta2
, PETA's youth animal rights organization, last year – pointing and staring into the camera.
"Justin wants his fans to know that buying a dog or a cat from a pet store or a breeder takes a home away from a deserving animal waiting in a shelter for a loving family," according to a statement.
If Bieber fever is as hot as it seems, this message will be heard by legions of screaming, tweeting fans. See more celebrity rescue advocates on PEOPLEPets.com:Jesse Eisenberg's Apartment is Full of Cats – and Nothing Else FIRST LOOK: Kellan Lutz & Dog Kola's Pet Adoption Ad
