Animal D'Oh! Cat Contemplates His Next Chess Move
Check meow! The king is under attack – by a cat.

David Foster's curious kitty Aramis loves to play along during chess matches, but he doesn't really know the rules of the game.

"When he realized there was a board with funny things on it that people would move," Foster says, "he wanted to take part in it. But he doesn't take an active part, he just moves pieces around."

Aramis, now a year old, was once a tiny kitten roaming around Foster's backyard. His mother had been hit by a car and killed, and one day, Aramis was able to find food in Foster's garden.

"One day, we opened the door, Aramis walked in and made himself at home," Foster says.

What's more amusing than the chess playing is the fact that Aramis loves to sit and listen when Foster plays the violin everyday. While the music is going, Aramis listens – from inside of Foster's violin case.

"He meows at me if I haven't started early enough for him," Foster says. "But I don't know why you would want to talk about him. He's just a cat."
