It's time to roll out the red carpet –there's a new star in town!
After being named Best in Show
at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, Scottish Deerhound GCH Foxcliffe Hickory Wind got the kind of treatment a champion gets in New York, with a VIP tour of the city's iconic sights.
On Wednesday, the first-ever Scottish Deerhound to win Best in Show rode to the top of the Empire State Building and took in the view (not to mention the strong winds that blow at the top of the skyscraper) along with his handler, Angela Lloyd.
The next day, Hickory and Lloyd stopped by the New York Stock Exchange, where they got to help ring the Opening Bell to start the day's trading. The winning team's special sightseeing moments are some of the last they'll share with each other this year; Hickory will now be living with his owners, breeders Dr. R. Scott and Cecilia L. Dove.
"I'm going to miss the nose nudge in the middle of the night," Lloyd told PEOPLEPets.com
. "She's always making sure that I still know she's very important."Read more about the Westminster Dog Show on PEOPLEPets.com:The Scottish Deerhound: What You Need to Know Hickory the Scottish Deerhound Wins Best in Show at Westminster
