Look who's a big girl! It's been almost a year since Kelly Bensimon adopted her Lab mix Chief, and in honor of the pup's first birthday, The Real Housewives of New York City star and her daughters have quite the party planned.
"It's a big deal," Bensimon told PEOPLEPets.com at the N.Y.C. premiere of John Freida's The Decision on March 22. "Chief is one and she's been such an amazing addition."
Joining Bensimon's Jack Russell terrier Bear and her Havanese Fluffy, Chief has proven a good influence on the star's daughters, 12-year-old Sea Louis and 10-year-old Thaddeus Ann.
"[Chief's] a Labrador and half pit so she's a lot of dog," Bensimon said. "It's been really good [for them], actually, because its been really stabilizing, but it's also good for the girls to be given responsibility."
And the girls are happy to return the favor. After discussing a party with her daughters, Bensimon said the trio decided on dessert together. "We're going to make Chief her own birthday cake – Chief-style."
Here's hoping she has a sweet tooth!
