If you thought Ed Asner was a cat person, you'd be right. If you thought the legendary actor was a dog person, you'd also be right.
"I've had many dogs and many cats," Asner told PEOPLEPets.com at the Humane Society of the United States 25th Anniversary Genesis Awards last month. "Right now, I would have a dog, but it would require too much mobility and activity on my part, so I have cats."
Now 81 and back on television as a grouchy neighbor on CMT's Working Class, Asner goes home to his two 4-year-old kitties, Wheezy and Archie.
Wheezy, a snowshoe Siamese, "is an Einstein-type cat," Asner said. "He's smarter than me."
The other, by Asner's own admission, is more like his owner. "Archie is a doofus," he said. "Wheezy sort of raised him, and then Archie decided to go out on the streets."
"He's had the hell beaten out of him and it finally dawned on him to maybe avoid the streets, come in and get petted a lot," Asner continued. "He's really making a big adjustment."
