Look what Santa brought – in June!
"She thought she was the queen of the house," owner Kimberly Carbonelli tells PEOPLE Pets of how Lucy the English bulldog handled her holiday headgear. "She thought it was something special. She was all excited, and not scared at all."
Carbonelli creates a wreath for Lucy and her canine "brothers and sisters", German Shepherd Vipyr and Rhodesian Ridgeback Kalli, every holiday season, but it's Lucy who gets the most enjoyment out of her annual present.
"She lets me put it on her," Carbonelli says. "It gets her all excited."
Adopted when she was 8 weeks old, Lucy quickly became the head of the animal household, and now, at 6½ years old, even bullies Carbonelli's larger pets around.
"She goes after them and tries to start a little fight with them once in a while," she says. "They're scared of her."
But while Vipyr and Kalli see Lucy as a threat, Carbonelli instead compares her to a harmless farm animal.
"She looks like a pig, snores like a pig," Carbonelli says. "If you call her pig, she'll answer to it."
