They didn't just get into the cowboy spirit while attending the Calgary Stampede – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got to mutton busting!
As spectators at the rodeo Thursday, the couple enjoyed different presentations of the city's traditions, which include the practice of children riding sheep.
Standing with the Canadian Prime Minister and his wife, Will and Kate were enthusiastic spectators as a boy – with a helmet on his head and chaps over his jeans – gamely straddled a big sheep.
Most children participating in mutton busting fall off in less than 8 seconds, according to reports, and this young man acted according to plan, slipping off as if on cue. Not to worry, though – someone was there to catch him before he could fall off completely!
