Home. Some cats and dogs never have one to call their own. We want to change that by introducing you to an extraordinary homeless pet every week. Today, we'd like you to meet Alan Jackson, a 4-year-old male cat who croons much like the famous country singer.
"He will serenade you with loving purrs, snuggle and nap in your lap," says VaNica Pridgeon, assistant adoptions manager at N.O.A.H. Animal Adoption Center in Stanwood, Wash., where Alan showed up as a stray in July.
When N.O.A.H. took him in, the fluffy feline's purr-fect pipes were threatened by an upper respiratory infection. "He was sick," Pridgeon says. "We neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated him and helped him heal from his kitty cold."
Now fully recovered, this "sweetheart" kitty is ready to make sweet music again – and find a place to call home. "We would love to see him go to a home that is ready to love him forever," she says. "A feline or canine buddy is okay as well with proper introductions."
If Alan Jackson sounds like the pal you've been looking for, contact the shelter at (360) 629-7055.
Established in 1988, N.O.A.H.'s mission is to build a bond for life between pets and their families. On Aug. 13, the center is holding it's biggest adoption event ever, called 100 Today Or Else We Stay. Doors open at 10 a.m. and employees won't leave the premises until 100 pets have been adopted.
