Rashmi's getting a helping hand – er, trunk!
The female Asian elephant calf, who was born at the Czech Republic's Ostrava Zoo in April, has been getting to know her new environment with the help of her 44-year-old mother.
"Rashmi means ray of light," explains zoo representative Monika Ondrusova. "She is a very curious and self-confident elephant that is starting to explore the world around her."
Even at her young age, Rashmi has learned to swim in her pool and chase toy balls. She's even gotten brave enough to leave her mother to walk around the enclosure on her own, and her outgoing ways have charmed the public.
"She is the best-known and most popular baby in the Czech Republic," Ondrusova says.
