Move over, Kate
– the royal family has welcomed a new female into the fold.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is the proud new mother of a Jack Russell terrier puppy named Beth, Clarence House confirmed on Twitter
The adorable tricolor pooch was left at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home
in England when she was 12 weeks old, according to Clarence House. She is one of over a hundred stray dogs that came to the animal shelter in July.
"Beth is a charming, confident little puppy and we know she will be very happy in her new home," Battersea's chief executive Claire Horton said in a statement on the rescue's website.
The Duchess, who visited the shelter last October to open the new cattery there, has, like her husband Prince Charles, long been a fan of the Jack Russell terrier breed. Luckily, the new addition has already hit it off with the Duchess's other Jack Russells, Tosca and Rosie.
Bowles told Britain's Daily Mail
that when she first laid eyes on Beth in e-mailed photographs, it was love at first sight.
"I just couldn't resist her, she is gorgeous," she said. "It is so exciting. I can't wait for her to meet the family."
