Watch out, Easter Bunny – there's a new larger-than-life bunny in town, and he may have stolen your thunder. It's a sculpture called the Big Yellow Rabbit, and it's tumbled into Orebro, Sweden.
Designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, the 42-ft. high temporary sculpture, known in Swedish as Stor Gul Kanin, is a lot tougher than the fluffy friend who brings dyed eggs each April. Hofman's large "cuddle toy," as he describes it, was constructed with concrete, metal and wood by local craftsmen.
Hofman is famous for dropping ginormous critters into different locales around the world. Earlier this year, he designed a towering teddy bear that stood over Amsterdam – while holding a pillow. And last year, his inflatable Fat Monkey – made entirely of flip flops! – took a big snooze in São Paolo.
