Rin Tin Tin Rings Closing Bell at New York Stock Exchange
A twelfth generation relative of the legendary dog found by American soldiers on the battlefields of France in World War I helped ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
The handsome and highly-trained German shepherd, who is the national spokesdog for the American Humane Association, barked as he rang the bell, with board members and guests of the charity standing beside him.
Rin Tin Tin and his entourage are in the Big Apple this week for a gala honoring the canines who sprang into action after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Those furry heroes will receive more recognition at American Humane's first-ever Hero Dog Awards, which are being broadcast on the Hallmark Channel on Nov. 11.
