Now that 10 years have passed since 9/11, many of the search-and-rescue dogs who worked through the rubble are retired, but the efforts they made are still remarkable. They searched for 12 hours at a time and were "pulling on the leash to go back to work" each day. –Reuters

The world champion swimmer Filippo Magnini raced two dolphins in a pool outside of Rome and lost. They had to swim twice as many lengths as he did, but they overtook him anyway. –AP
