Ryan Gosling sent the rumor mill into overdrive when he spent a day holding hands with Eva Mendes at Disneyland's California Adventure park earlier this month.

But the actor had a bigger secret to spill about the happiest place on earth – and there's nothing romantic or Hollywood about it.

"There is a belief that Disney has been breeding an army of cats," Gosling told Conan O'Brien on Monday. "And they're not just ordinary cats. They have a special set of skills. They're like commando cats."

What exactly are the commando cats bred to do? Gosling explained: "They live on the outskirts of the park, and at night, under the cover of darkness, these cats descend into the park and they eat all the mice."

"The thing that's so messed up about it is that the whole empire of Disney is built on the back of one mouse," he added. "If you're a mouse and you go into Disneyland, you are not leaving alive."
