This baby hippopotamus, born Oct. 23, made its public debut at the Berlin Zoo on Tuesday. Though the young calf is just a few weeks old, its charm was on full display.
Using its tiny face, the hippo went right up to its mother, Nicole, and confidently gave her a peck.
While Nicole kept close watch, the calf wandered around its enclosure and got to know its surroundings. Mother and baby had many more public displays of affection. Who cares if anyone is watching – the baby's just too cute!
