Eight Is Enough? Miranda Lambert Takes in a Stray Dog on Halloween Eve

Miranda Lambert has said she's keeping babies at bay, but the country singer's four-legged brood just keeps getting bigger.

Earlier this week, Lambert added an eighth dog to the pack she shares with husband Blake Shelton when a floppy-eared pooch walked onto the couple's property.

"This wondered [sic] up last night," she wrote on Twitter on Monday. "Full blooded 7 month old blood hound. Ophelia is what I named her. Lord not another one ... "

Ophelia joins Delta, Delilha, Jessi, Waylon, Virginia Bluebell, Black Betty and Cher – and it seems Momma wants the new one to take after little Cher. Lambert rescued the teacup Chihuahua just before last year's Academy of Country Music Awards and ended up taking home some prizes. Coincidentally, the CMA Awards air Nov. 9, and Lambert is among the nominees.

"Maybe this little 'pumpkin' will be my good luck charm!" she wrote in an update Monday. "Vet said she is all good and pretty healthy for a stray. Awww!"

Even though Lambert's busy promoting her new album, Four the Record, she's still making time to get acquainted with her newest friend.

On Thursday, she shared a photo of a cute cuddle with Ophelia: "Someone likes to give hugs."
