Fancy Feline! Meet Fa-raon, the World's Biggest Kitty V.I.P.
There was Leonardo, Brad and Angelina, Orlando and Miranda ... In a year, Fa-roan has seen more celebrities than most people do in a lifetime.
Luckily for him, he has nine lives.
From his vantage point at the five-star Hotel Le Bristol in Paris – atop the concierge desk, on the carpeted lobby steps or, quite frankly, wherever he feels like roaming or lying down – the 18-month-old, blue-eyed, white feline acts as the in-house mascot (some say master) of one of the world's most luxurious hotels.
Just call him L'Empurrer.
Since Fa-raon (the name fittingly means pharaoh in French) arrived last year at Le Bristol, he has been greeting guests young and old. He is also constantly being groomed, petted, fashion photographed and featured on French television reports.
Fa-raon is a Birman, "a sacred cat from Burma, selected for his warm and docile nature," Le Bristol's Communication Manager Melanie Hubert tells PEOPLE. The idea to have a cat to living freely within the palace-style hotel sprang up one morning when hotel director Didier Le Calvez asked, "We're a family hotel – why don't we have a cat?'"
The feline, who has free range of the entire hotel, its French garden, and certain choice morsels from its three-star restaurant, now has his own blog on the hotel concierge's website, where he contributes a cat's eye view into some of the hotel clients' decidedly upscale demands – including last-minute private jets and luxury suites.
Already a Parisian celebrity, Fa-raon has pawed his way into international standing. He has two Facebook pages: one dedicated entirely to photographs of him, and the other, a gallery of children's drawings, many of which decorate a brand-new children-only area in the hotel's recently opened luxury health spa.
Who said it was a dog's life?
