The White House unveiled its holiday decorations on Wednesday, and nearly every room has been wrapped up with a little Bo.
The official theme for the 2011 season is Shine, Give, Share, in tribute to the military, veterans and military families. Unofficially? It's all the First Dog, who was on hand to greet visitors during the unveiling ceremony.
Along with the 37 Christmas trees that decorate the various rooms of the White House, there are five special black-and-white topiaries made to look just like the Obama family's Portuguese water dog.
"We have so many Bo's this year, all different kinds and shapes," says floral designer Heather Cooper.
There's "trash bag Bo," "marshmallow and licorice Bo," a Bo made of pom poms, a 4½-ft. tall Bo made of felt pieces, and a truly adorable "littlest Bo" made of buttons, beads, sequins, and a heart-shaped button over – where else? – his heart.
There are also, following tradition, a miniature Bo waiting outside the White House gingerbread house, and White House cookies made to look like Bo as well. Save some for Santa!
