David M. Russell/The Rachael Ray Show
hates balls, and she's found a kindred spirit in Rachael Ray
On Friday's episode of the Rachael Ray Show
, the talk show host announced a new partnership with Heigl and her animal charity, the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation
, in which she'll donate $150,000 to help ongoing efforts to raise awareness about spaying and neutering.
"Their $150K will help us save so many pet lives," Heigl Tweeted
. "Super grateful!" she added in response to a follower.
The collaboration with Ray comes hot on the heels of the launch of the I Hate Balls campaign
, which the One for the Money
star kicked off in November. By encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their animals, the actress aims to lessen the population of shelter animals, and kiddingly, eradicate "terrible, terrible testicles" from the world.
"I'm thrilled to have a passionate friend like Katherine to help animals in need," said Ray, whose donation will come from the proceeds of her Nutrish pet food line. "I am very excited that together we can donate our celebrity to give these animals a voice, a home and a healthy life."
