Celebrated like at no other point in his career, Uggie the dog may be on the brink of retirement, but he isn't finished yet. Before he skates off into the sunset, the superstar Jack Russell terrier decided it was time to share a few of his secrets, and stopped by the PEOPLE studios to draw back the curtain on the famous moves that landed him a starring role in awards-season favorite The Artist.

He goes bashful, plays dead and barks on cue – Uggie is a veritable magician of tricks. He may seem like an effortless performer, but it took lots of training (and dog treats!) to perfect those skills.
