"Our dogs are stubborn and they need to get better potty trained," Jonas told PEOPLE at the Rock The Vote Grammy week kick-off on Wednesday at Fred Segal on Melrose, which he hosted with his brother Joe.
The issue has gotten so bad that the oldest JoBro and his wife, Danielle, who are parents to pups Maci and Riley, have made a major resolution this year.
"Get them to stop pooping in my house," Jonas said. "That was a big one."
Despite the messy situation, the dogs aren't in the doghouse for their bad habits. "Other than that, they're great," he says. "They travel everywhere with us, which is really cool because they're small enough to."
Little brother Joe, who has an English bulldog named Winston, explained that his doggie resolutions are focused on a different kind of training: exercise.
"I wanted to take my dog to [Hollywood's] Runyon Canyon," he said. "My dog is a big, fat, adorable dog. I saw an English bulldog on top of Runyon Canyon, so I was like, 'Alright, if that guy can do that, I should definitely be able to do it with my dog.'"
