Russell Brand went looking for love Saturday when he stopped by an adoption event organized by Ace of Hearts, an animal rescue group in Beverly Hills.
The newly single actor, sporting a beard and looking casual in loose pants and a flowing shirt, spent some time with fans but zeroed in on – what else? – the dogs.
Brand, like his ex Katy Perry, is an animal lover and already has a cat named Morrissey. He was perhaps looking to bring home a new pet and lingered over a group of adoptable dogs.
He broke out into a beaming smile, though, upon seeing a gray American Staffordshire terrier puppy from a rescued litter. Brand nuzzled with the dog and walked around with it in his arms, but eventually left empty-handed.
