Abbie Cornish has been working on her bird calls – not for a new role, but to get her pet parakeet down from a tree.
The W.E. star's bird, Hendrix, had flown into a tree outside her Los Angeles home, so Cornish spent several hours Wednesday trying to get the parakeet to come down.
Cornish used several tactics, but when whistling and yelling didn't work, she eventually climbed on top of a paparazzo's car and was able to retrieve her bird.
"I'm trying to train him," she said. "If you move slowly enough and say, 'Step up,' he should jump onto your finger."
