When the Bachelor pair learned that the owner of their boutique hotel, the Hacienda San Angel in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, had built an animal rescue shelter just outside of town, they knew they had to pay a visit.
On March 24, they spent the afternoon touring the SPCA de Puerta Vallarta and playing with the shelter's homeless residents – including puppies Chester and Cooper, pictured above.
"Showing Ben and Courtney around the shelter and watching them fall in love with these sweet animals was a pleasure," says Janice Chatterton, owner of the Hacienda San Angel and founder of the shelter.

They may have left empty handed – probably due to Ben's furball, Scotch, waiting for them back at home in San Francisco – but their hearts were warmed by plenty of cuddles, and they promised to spread the word about the city's first no-kill animal shelter.
