Better late than never!
After being lost, and presumed dead, for 16 years, a male cat named Poldi was found in the woods near Munich, Germany, and will soon be reunited with his owner.
When a local family found the emaciated animal roaming around, they brought it to the city's animal sanctuary, where a tattooed number located on his ear was used to identify his owner, who remains unnamed.
"She really didn't think she would see the cat again after such a long time," Eveline Kosenbach, who works at the animal farm, said, noting that such a story is "an extremely unusual occurrence." The woman and Poldi will be reunited Thursday.
