Texting Man Inadvertently Walks Into a Bear
One more reason you shouldn't text and walk: You might bump into a bear.
It happened to one distracted man outside his Los Angeles-area home. He was on his phone, walking down his driveway, as a 3-year-old male black bear wandered towards him from the other direction. Once the man eventually spotted the animal, he bolted in the other direction.
A local news helicopter flying overhead captured the scene; it had been tracking the 400-lb. bear because the animal had been going into residents' yards and trash cans for weeks.
Fish and game authorities eventually located the bear and tranquilized it, according to the Associated Press. There were no injuries to the public or to the bear, and it will be released into the wild.
