Austin resident Michael Paxton witnessed a police officer shoot his 7-year-old dog, Cisco, when he responded to a 911 call and was given the wrong address. “I was panicked, traumatized,” Paxton said of the incident, which occurred on his driveway after Cisco lept toward the officer. “It’s a very painful loss for me.” –

DogTV aims to keep dogs occupied while owners are at work with an 8-hour block of television designed specifically to interest the canine viewer, featuring no commercials, muted colors, special music and all footage shot from the angle of a dog. Several dead cows stuck inside a cabin at Colorado’s Conundrum Hot Springs are causing confusion for officials with the U.S. Forest Service, who believe the only way to rid the area of the bodies is to blow them up. The animals were discovered by Air Force Academy cadets, who found them piled high in the cabin, and frozen to death. –Aspen Daily News
