This dog is celebrating something big: his eyes, which measure a whopping 28 millimeters (that's more than one whole inch!) in diameter.

The 4-year-old black-and-white Boston terrier has been crowned "dog with the largest eyes" by Guinness World Records.

Bruschi's Texas-based owner, Victoria Reed, who adopted him from a shelter in 2009, set her eyes on the prize after frequent comments on his bulging eyes from friends, family and even her own vet. Despite a scare last year when one of his eyeballs popped out of its socket, Bruschi ran off with the title.

Though he only has peripheral vision in both eyes, the energetic and playful pooch loves to play dress-up and is otherwise in perfectly good health. And, Reed thinks her sweet dog would be very proud of his accomplishment.

"Some people do make fun of him for his looks," she told Guinness. "But I feel like he would go up to them and say, 'Haha, look where I am now, I've got a record for my looks!'"
