Adopt Me! Sonia Wants Her Next Home to be Forever
This elderly cat's life was turned upside down last January when she was given up by her longtime owner. Since then, she's gone through three different foster homes and two other rescue facilities, but she needs a place where she can permanently hang her hat – and crown.
"Sonia is a true princess," says her current caregiver, Louise Patterson, who works with New York's Angellicle Cats Rescue. "One of Sonia's favorite pastimes is being brushed. When I pull her brush out of the cupboard, her big eyes light up."
Sonia is happy to pitch in when it comes to pampering, too. "She doesn't even wait for me to start brushing," Patterson says. "Instead, she moves her head and body around the brush and does all the work herself!"
She may be bold with a brush, but Sonia is more reserved when it comes to new people. "She's shy at first," Patterson says. "She has a lot of love to give to the humans that she trusts."
This sweet senior lady, who would do best in a home without other dominant cats, is ready to be someone's loyal companion again. "Even though she was devastated after she was abandoned by her owner of eight years, Sonia still loves human companionship," Patterson says. "She likes to make sure the human in her life is nearby at all times."
